Dozens of protesters in Lebanon sang "Baby Shark" to comfort a toddler who was upset after getting caught up in the demonstrations.

The youngster was in the passenger seat of a car while his mother attended the rally in Beirut.

But he was overwhelmed by the loud noises of the protests against the country's government.

DJs who were in charge of the music during the anti-corruption protest noticed the crowd of men joining in with a chorus of the popular song to cheer the youngster up.

Several more people then joined in to help calm the baby down after being told that it was the child's favourite song.

Onlooker, May, said that they are aiming for a peaceful protests.

She added: ''A little context on the baby shark song. A kid told his mum that he's scared when they arrived to the demonstration, so the protesters decided to put this song and they gathered around the kid and sang with him.

"We are not violent people, what we do here is peaceful. We even have DJs on the rallies."

The protests, the largest the country has seen in five years, started after the government proposed tax on calls via WhatsApp and other messaging apps.
