A temple in north India sees thousands of devotees tie bells to the buildings to grant their wishes, leaving tens of thousands of bells gathering over the years.

The Golu Devta temple in Nainital, Uttarakhand has tens of thousands of bells tied to various posts inside the premises, with some almost centuries old, as seen in this footage from November 7.

The bells are tied by devotees who specially come to visit the temple to make a wish fulfilled and then tie a bell in return when the wishes get fulfilled.

People first tie chits on legal stamp papers on which they write their petitions, as the god of the temple, Golu Devta, is considered a god of justice and is widely worshipped in the state.
