The BBC gets ready for its Election 2019 coverage, as rain soaks its outdoor constituency map.

Sophie Raworth will have the likely rather damp job of presenting part of the BBC’s election night coverage standing on its map of UK constituencies, outside the corporation’s Broadcasting House HQ in London

Each coloured block on the map represents a constituency. Blue for Conservative, red for Labour, etc.

The current colours represent the 2017 election results. As constituencies change hands during the night tonight, they will be replaced with new blocks of the relevant colours.

The programme, which begins at 21:55GMT, will be anchored by Huw Edwards with Jeremy Vine and Sophie Raworth as co-presenters.
