I want to say that about ten more cases can be brought before court against me. This can't break me, - former Interior Minister and former Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili told reporters after leaving the so-called Matrosov prison.

As he noted, he intends to get involved in active politics.

“We all guarantee that we will win and every question will be answered. The country will move forward. I told you that I would engage in active politics to defeat this regime. I will definitely inform you of my exact plans,” Merabishvili said.

Former Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Merabishvili left the so-called Matrosov prison after 7 years of imprisonment. Merabishvili was arrested in May 2013. He had been serving sentence for several cases, including a brutal dispersal of an opposition rally on May 26, 2011, the murder case of Sandro Girgvliani and the physical abuse of the opposition MP Valeri Gelashvili.

Merabishvili may face further charges for the raid in Imedi TV in 2007 and the dispersal of another rally on November 7, 2007.
I am glad that the whole opposition is united. Unfortunately, my closest friends are in different parties and I will meet them all, - former Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili said after leaving prison.

He said that he would make conclusions and specific political plans after meeting with opposition representatives.

“I am glad that the whole opposition is united and with this unity we will defeat the existing regime. I haven't made any statements about specific parties so far, because I had been in isolation, I had been removed from the ongoing processes, and therefore, I can't make a statement today either, because nothing has changed within 5 minutes after leaving the cell.

Unfortunately, my closest friends and comrades are in different parties. I will, of course, meet all of them, listen to them and then make decisions. I need some time to make conclusions, you will be informed about it. I guarantee that we will win and the country will move forward," Merabishvili said.
I guarantee that by the end of the year, after toppling the government, the doors of this prison will be widely opened, - former Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili said after leaving the so-called Matrosov prison.

According to him, it is necessary to replace the current government.

“It is necessary to do so and we will certainly do so. This is necessary for the country to start development, to move forward, to grow the welfare of our people, to dissolve hopelessness, to give prospects to the youth, to increase employment and wages, and to give decent pensions to older persons. We will definitely win.

I guarantee you that by the end of the year, after toppling this government, the doors of this prison will be widely opened for every political prisoner…everyone I know in this prison is a political prisoner," Merabishvili said.
