An ice storm during the wettest January in Canadian history has frozen these collapsed trees solid and the result is oddly beautiful.

This ice storm hit southern Ontario on January 11 and the footage was filmed at a high point in elevation [1,500 meters].

The filmer told Newsflare: "This is not uncommon for the season.

"During this storm we were lucky it was a degree colder because 100 millimeters of rain fell."

This is not uncommon for the season - the ice in the trees I filmed this at a high point in elevation (1500m) in Southern Ontario. And usually sees more ice accumulate on trees during ice storm setups.
During this storm we we lucky it was a degree colder because 100mm of rain fell during this system which broke a record for the wettest January day ever in this region
