This is the shocking moment Londoner, Tony Shoulder, found his iPad charger smoking after it overheated and set itself alight.

Tony's son Paddy alerted him to the charger fire: "My six-year-old son just came and told me that the smoke was coming out of the charger so I ran and had a look it was just smoking. I turned it off after 10 seconds and then a short clip to show others how dangerous this could be.

"The charging cable was in good condition before and I did not see any splits on it or anything and the main charger that the lead plugs into is an Apple charger."

"I want to make people aware that this could happen so be careful if your kids have chargers in their rooms and under their pillows," Tony added.

The clip was filmed on February 20 in his London home.
