This Southern Rail train driver delivered a brilliant poetic announcement while pulling into London Victoria station to the amusement of the commuters on board.

Peter Kenworthy managed to record the two-minute announcement that Steve, the driver, made as they arrived in London on February 23.

Kenworthy tweeted: "Praise where praise is due @SouthernRailUK our driver Steve operating the 1725 ex Gatwick to London Victoria made our day and week with his poetic onboard announcements."

He also told Newsflare: "If only all train announcements were like this!"

The train driver opens his poem with: "I'm pleased to announce we've arriving bang on time, I hope you've had a nice smooth ride because I drive my train with pride."

Steve was the driver of the 1614 Southern Railway train from Littlehampton to London Victoria via Gatwick Airport and he made comical and poetic announcements throughout the journey from Gatwick to London on Sunday 23rd February 2020. If only all train announcements were like this!
