A carriage on a parked passenger train caught fire and was badly damaged while at a station in south India.

The train, which was empty at the time, was parked for maintenance near the Moula Ali Railway Station in Hyderabad, Telangana, when fire officers received a call on March 14 at around 10:37am.

Three fire engines were rushed to the spot and contained the fire following a two hour struggle. Only one compartment was damaged and no casualties were reported.

An investigation has been called, however the cause of the fire is still unknown.
