Hungry elephant tragically found eating plastic waste in Sri Lanka
Heartbreaking scenes captured in Sri Lanka showed an elephant eating trash.
The incident took place at the Habarana-Dambulla road on April 6.
Visuals showed the elephant, identified as a female, quietly standing on the edge of the road and eating the trash.
As the filmer zooms in, it shows the presence of plastic bags in the pile the elephant was eating from.
According to reports, locals throw garbage on the roads for wild animals to feed on.
At times, these contain plastic bags and other substances that are harmful to the animals, who eat these, oblivious to the negative effects these have.
