Two animal rights activists from Animal Rebellion were arrested on Saturday (July 11) after they dyed the iconic fountains at London's Trafalgar Square blood-red.

Protesters claimed that animal farming caused the COVID-19 outbreak and ending meat consumption would help to prevent future pandemics, encouraging plant-based alternatives. The activism group believes the government must end all animal farming.

An activist who dyed one of the fountains told media, "the government has blood on their hands, they're responsible for the climate and animal emergency"
