This was the moment a spectator at Bridlington Animal Park in the UK captured an epic slow-motion shot of a gliding owl.

Footage from July 12 shows the large bird fly through the crowd with expert precision and the speed of the video captures every flinching movement.

The filmer, Martyn Bloomfield, said: "The video is of a great grey owl flying low and fast a few inches above my head in 1,000 frames per second super slow motion.

"It was part of a display presented by the park featuring several owls and birds of prey.

"It was a very lucky shot that I managed to get and thought I had missed it until I actually watched it back.

"I tried unsuccessfully to get slow-motion footage of the other owls and birds."
