Tokyo Disneyland characters direct guests after earthquake warning issued by mistake

Disneyland characters aboard floats and staff swiftly direct guests to crouch and protect their heads during a "special greeting" at Tokyo Disneyland on the morning of July 30.

According to local media, it was later announced that the warning was issued by mistake.

An alert broadcast to smartphones across Japan's capital warned of an impending 7.3 magnitude earthquake. The alert was a false alarm, which overstated the magnitude of a smaller temblor, the Meteorological Agency said.

The filmer, Minori, told Newsflare: "I went there with my friend to have fun. I was surprised when the alarm sounded, but everyone listened to the cast's instructions without any fuss.

"The alarm lasted under five minutes, and no one was injured. There wasn't any shaking caused by the earthquake."
