A powerful storm Ellen as known as a "weather bomb", is approaching the UK's shores, and has already hit much of Ireland, bringing gusts of up to 75 mph and heavy rain on Wednesday, August 19.

Met Éireann has issued an Orange National Weather Warning. Ellen is expected to bring very strong winds to Northern Ireland on Thursday morning.
