London, August 26th 2020. A small group of protesters from the Phulbari Solidarity Group and allied organisation The Committee To Protect Oil, Gas and Natural Resources in Bangladesh gathered at The London Stock Exchange to protest against Global Coal Management (GCM) which they claim is fraudulently listed on the LSE's Alternative markets. The company is accused of past human rights abuses in Phulbari, Bangladesh, where they have been trying to open a vast opencast coal mine. The Protesters say that the Bangladesh government has withdrawn the company's right to operate in the country, yet it still continues to trade on the London Stock exchange, despite, as claimed by the protesters, not having any mining operations or assets.
