Church of England priest Rev. Alasdair Kay (Rector) joins protest on Portland, Dorset over a proposed waste incinerator.
There is considerable opposition to the proposal to build a waste incinerator plant on Portland with a claimed number of over 6,000 having signed a petition against the scheme. We spoke to a representative of Powerfuel Portland Ltd who explained the benefits of the project as they see them, as well as a representative from ‘Stop Portland Waste Incinerator’ who are objecting to “a monstrous polluting waste incinerator in the iconic and highly visible location of Portland’s north-east coast.” A protest event on Saturday 12 September attracted many protesters, Including the local Rector of Wyke Regis, Rev.
