The Pursuit

Buy video

This video was shot by my 11 year old son, Aarav Shah when we were on a family safari together in the Maasai Mara, Kenya. It is of a huge male lion called Jesse. A few minutes before this sighting we saw another male lion called Half Tail who was furiously looking for something in the bush. Out of nowhere, this male lion called Jesse sprung out and started running away with a female from Half Tail's pride. As he approached our Safari Landcruiser, my son had the camera on a beanbag to help with stability - shot this sequence of video and did not flinch whatsoever even when the lion (Jesse) came to within a foot of us. It is his first video that he has shot and was super excited! The lion eventually went away with the female and started mating with her for the most of the morning. It was a morning that we will never forget.
