An Indonesian paratrooper had to be rescued after crash landing on phone lines during a military training exercise.

The Special Forces Command soldier lost control of the descent and missed the landing. He was tangled in the cable in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java on September 29.

Footage shows how the soldier was seen hanging there struggling to move until villagers found him and called for help. Officials rushed to the scene take him down.

The canopy of the parachute was still inflated so they had to unfasten it first before he could drag him down. They used a long ladder to reach him and help undo the device from his body.

The soldier was not injured and said that the strong wind made him lose control of the parachute and missed his landing spot.

He resumed his training after thanking the villagers who helped him.

The soldier was prevented from being harmed as the cables are insulated in thick rubber and no electric currents pass through them.
