BREAKING NEWS
Anyone who has watched the videos of this crazed football ADDICTED Staffy puppy, can now see what happens when he goes 'COLD TURKEY'.
Rocky’s recent couch-therapy failed to stifle his addictive football urges and as the treatment did not work I engaged a new dog trainer. When he arrived to ascertain what training Rocky required, he observed this energetic puppy’s manic reaction to his football and his obsessive need to be watched whilst playing the game. The trainer explained that Rocky’s hyperactive response was bad for his health both physically and emotionally, and suggested that when my puppy was asleep that I take his solid doggy football and all other balls and hide them away.
I locked Rocky’s precious football in the shed the day before this recording was made, but when he awoke my attempts to distract Rocky with other toys was unsuccessful and he was so distressed that he kept shouting FOOT BALL, I tried to explain that his new trainer insisted that it was for his own good, but Rocky disagreed. As well as barking FOOT BALL as loudly as he could, Rocky also desperately tried to press the voice programmed buzzer which speaks the word FOOTBALL as if he did not think I understood what his barks meant, which of course I did.
It was excruciating watching Rocky sniffing the garden desperately trying to locate his beloved football, and although I feel bad for him, the dog behaviorist advised that Rocky’s obsession would distract him and put him in a state which would prevent learning during training sessions.
Like an elephant, Rocky still goes through the same motions frantically trying to find his football bestie.
Training starts in a few days and then hopefully he will calm down and learn other tricks and once his training is over I will allow him his football as a treat for being good, as long as he does not become over stimulated.
