Typhoon Molave, local name Quinta, slammed the southern portion of the Philippines' largest island Luzon on Sunday night until Monday morning.

The nation's 17th typhoon of the year, hit with sustained winds of 125 kph and gusts of up to 180 kph. It caused flooding and prompted evacuation after heavy rains swamped villages in the region.

Molave is now passing over the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) and threatens Vietnam.
