An adorable video has emerged of a baby trying desperately hard to speak to her mother.

The video, captured at a family home by Montreal resident David Freiheit, shows his 5-month daughter making a series of inarticulate cries in an attempt to express herself.

Failing to articulate any meaning, the baby quickly gives up on the idea of language and gets distracted by a toy.

Writing online about the video, Freiheit said "My kid clearly has something very important to say. She just doesn't know any words yet."
