A family of pet parrots that were let out of their cage destroyed a garage roof in Thailand.

The five conure parakeets used their huge beaks to rip through the insulation attached to the roof of the structure in Chiang Mai on November 8.

Pet owner, Chutikarn Suttikul, said her parrots have 'high destructive power'' and would destroy random items around the property.

She said: "My babies are very naughty, this is not the first time all of them have torn down the stuff at home as a team."

Sun conures are medium-sized, vibrantly-coloured parrots native to northeastern South America.

The parrots are normally not aggressive and can be very friendly with their loved ones. However, they tend to show aggressive behaviour when trying to defend themselves from the threats.
