A dramatic video has emerged of a violent snowmobile crash in Pennsylvania, US.

The footage, captured on a helmet-mounted camera earlier this month, shows the female rider hitting a road and catapulting forwards into the snow.

"My husband and I were side-by-side and suddenly, I saw the road in front of us there was no time to push the breaks,” she later wrote online.

“We both flew in the air across the road. My husband cleared that drop and I didn't. I nose-dived and flipped a couple of times.

“The sled landed on me, I couldn't move for couple of minutes. But stood up and we drove back to the truck. I'm fine, just have bruises all over my legs."
