Craig Fowle, 33, is a Super Yacht Marine Chief Engineer, and took this video in Durban Ballito at a small park in December.

"We live in a subtropical area in Durban South Africa surrounded by a lot of dense bush. There are lots of snakes but to see a Rock Python this big out in the open is very rare" said Craig.

"It's a 9.5m rock python largest ever recorded was 9.75m so I knew the snake was around. The security guards spotted a smaller one coming out of the bush by our main gate the following morning about 4.5m long!" said Craig.

Craig knew they were around and was hoping to spot one. Before walking onto his balcony he thought it would be awesome if he could see it crossing the field and as he walked out onto the balcony he saw it. He sprinted down to get a video and got as close as he could.

"Scary thing is that we all walk out dogs down at the field. You can hear my dogs barking in the background and this snake will easy take down my dogs, a Labrador and an American Pit Bull!" said Craig.
