Dozens of women rallied in Istanbul, Turkey, on Wednesday (December 30) to protest the killing of four women in 24 hours.

Aylin Sözer, Selda Taş, Vesile Dönmez and Betül Tuğluk were all killed by men on December 29.

The killings have caused outrage across the country.

The motives for the murders have yet to be determined and investigations have been launched.

Aylin Sözer was stabbed to death in her home by a man named Kemal Ayyıldız. Selda Taş was shot and killed by a man named Mehmet Taş, her husband. Vesile Dönmez was shot dead by her son. Betül Tuğluk was also shot dead by her son.

Hundreds of women in Istanbul protested after these murders. Woman on the video said, "The government is responsible for murders of women. Because the government does not implement the Istanbul Convention, which ensures that women are taken under protection. The murderers are not punished. It is enough now!"
