Protesters demand justice for Rita Persaud in New York City

People in Queens, New York City took to the streets on Saturday, January 2 to protest over the death of Ritawantee “Rita” Persaud, a 54-year old New York-based Guyanese woman, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Christmas Eve night.

She has died in Ozone Park, Queens after the driver of a Lamborghini SUV crashed into the Uber taxi in which she was traveling.

According to report, the driver of the Lamborghini fled the scene on foot, and the police found marijuana in his car.
