Impala ewe antelope eating her after birth(meat)
A rare occurrence when an antelope (Impala) will eat meat. This is a female impala eating her afterbirth. What this does is gives her the extra protein(nutrients) she requires to carry on producing milk for her foul.
Pregnancy takes a lot of nutrients out of the antelope so this is an important time for her to show a rare behaviour of eating meat considering they are browsers.
Filmed in the Hluhluwe Imfolozi game reserve in Zululand, South Africa.
