Flooding in Matlock after River Derwent burst its bank in wake of Storm Christoph

Footage showcases the damage left by the rising water levels of the River Derwent in Derbyshire after the Midlands were subjected to torrential downpours from Storm Christoph.

The filmer told Newsflare: "The swollen River Derwent broke its banks at Cromford Mill, Derbyshire, down stream from Darley Dale and Matlock.
Trees in the water, logs and other debris washed down stream below Willersley Castle Hotel."

The footage was filmed in Matlock on January 21.
