Wildlife Photographers Ewan Wilson and Serenity Dzubay where on a late afternoon hike in the Serra De Guarerama mountain range when they came across a surprising sight! The photographers had spotted a Spanish Smooth Snake blocking there path. The reptiles strategy is to stay as still as possible in hopes that the couple want see him, but this could mean that other hikers may accidentally step on him. So the photographers put down there cameras as got to work in rescuing the snake!

Ewan grabbed the nearest stick so that he could balance the snake on it, then he gently held the animals tale. Snakes are very delicate and any form of rough handling can lead to there death, so he maintained a gentle grip.

Once the snake has been secured it was moved safely off the path and slithered away into a safe place. The exited photographers quickly took some pictures as the animal left the scene.
