Motorists in Norfolk abandon cars as giant snow drifts block roads

Drivers in Norfolk in the East of England were forced to abandon their vehicles on Monday (February 8) as snow caused havoc on the roads.

Video on the A149 outside the village of Mundesley, near Cromer, shows huge snow drifts and a JCB at the scene trying to rescue one vehicle.

"That is crazy," says filmer Tim Lindon in the video. "The people have got out safely, though. The snow drifts here are pretty bad. This car has been abandoned and has had to be dug out by this JCB. Up there a van has got stuck in the snow as well. Look at it!"

"I was driving in Norfolk and could not go any further due to snow drifts!" Lindon later told Newsflare. "Some of the snow drifts were literally up to my neck."
