A zoo in central China has tried to pass off a dog as a wolf after it died.

The video, filmed in the city of Xianning in Hubei Province on March 1, shows a Rottweiler dog sitting in an enclosure with "wolves are here" written in Chinese characters on the wall.

According to the filmer, the price of the ticket to enter the zoo was 15 yuan (£1.66).

The zookeeper said it used to have a wolf in that enclosure but it died of old age.

Chinese netizens joked on Twitter-like social media Weibo, "at least get a husky" and another said, "anyways, the dogs and wolves are relatives."
