A tiger attacked a cattle breeder in central India's Madhya Pradesh on March 14.

The incident took place in the Takhatpur village, located in the Mandsaur district.

Footage shows the cattle breeder seeking treatment at a medical institution. He displays an open wound on his arm and narrates the incident of the attack. Later, a companion escorts him out of the district hospital after his wound was treated.

The village is located 10 kilometres (6.21 miles) from the Umaria district that houses the Bandhavgarh National Park. Due to the increasing numbers of tigers in the region, the big cats often stray onto the residential area, ensuing panic among the locals.

The cattle breeder had escorted his livestock for grazing onto a clearing, where he encountered the tiger. The big cat attempted to attack his cattle, following which the breeder tackled the tiger himself to save his livestock. In the process, the tiger attacked the cattle breeder instead.

The man sustained a wound on his arm, following which he was rushed to the Umaria district hospital for medical treatment.
