This bizarre aquatic worm is so flat it looks like a pancake.

Footage from a research marine station in Singapore shows a flatworm slithering across a piece of coral.

Having such flat bodies, the species has no specialised respiratory organs and allows oxygen to pass through their bodies by diffusion.

This footage was filmed in October 2020.

I work in a research Marine Station and while cleaning our tanks, the flatworm, Pericelis beyerleyana, was found hiding on the one of the tiles amongst our corals in the aquarium.
According to @only_just_curious (a flatworm researcher) , there is still little known about this species.
