Hundreds of protesters attended a "Kill the Bill" demonstration in Weymouth, Dorset on Saturday (3 April) at 1pm UK time.

It is one of a number of protests organised nationally against a bill that will increase police's powers to crack down on protests.

Local activist groups, Stand Up To Racism Dorset and Extinction Rebellion Weymouth and Portland, are joining with other local groups and movements and individuals for the demonstration.


Those attending the protest in Weymouth were encouraged to wear masks and socially distance by organisers.

A spokesperson for Stand Up To Racism Dorset said: "We would rather not have to take to the streets during a pandemic - but the threat posed by this bill means it is necessary to take action now.
