An amusing video has emerged of a toddler accidentally jumping onto a pet dog.

The footage, captured at a home in Utah, US earlier this month, shows the young boy leaping from a stack of play mats just as the dog is running past – flattening the poor animal.

Writing online about the video, the filmer wrote, "our crazy baby loves jumping off high things. In this clip. just as he jumped off our dog walked right underneath him. He looked like Zorro mounting his faithful steed. The timing was perfect."

Fortunately, both rider and mount made a full recovery after the stunt.
