An American Black Bear visits a pond in Idaho on March 31, 2021 while there is still snow on the ground and ice on the pond. The bear breaks off a slab of ice and removes it from the pond, drinks, then stretches a few times on top of the hard snow. Upon exiting the area, it stands in font of the camera for a few moments, leaves, then returns about 10 minutes later and moves the camera to the right.

This is the first bear to be on video of 2021. One viewer remarked that this bear seems like it just woke up from hibernation because of the way it acted. The bear was at this spot for 30 minutes, but I cut out most of the video to make this one. On April 3, 2021 a mother bear with her one cub also visited this pond, but the ice had melted and they both got into the water.
