Scary moment when an unexpected rogue wave nearly hits the small boat of Tyler C and smashes into the coast a few seconds later. The wave was at least 2-3x the size of any other. Luckily the captain was able to ascend the wave to avoid being smashed!

Rogue waves (also known as freak waves, monster waves, episodic waves, killer waves, extreme waves, sneaker waves, and abnormal waves) are unusually large, unexpected and suddenly appearing surface waves that can be extremely dangerous. In oceanography, rogue waves are more precisely defined as waves whose height is more than twice the significant wave height (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_wave).
