An adorable video has emerged of a dog getting excited on hearing the word 'coffee'.

The footage, shot last month at a home in Saint Catharines, Canada, shows Apollo - a 3 and a half year old German shepherd - lying on a sofa when he hears his owners are going for a coffee. He immediately perks up and noisily jumps around.

"So every Saturday morning since he was a year old we have gone to Tim Hortons for our morning coffee, he has always come for the ride! If we don't go to Tim Hortons within the first hour or two upon waking up, he starts to wine and nudge us", the filmer later wrote online.

"This morn we were up an hour and I then started to video him before I said the words.. We can't say coffee in our house!"
