'In this video, Michael Digout films a young beaver struggling to find its parent and swim to the edge of the river due to a snowdrift in its path.

The filmer wrote: "I regularly follow a family of beavers. On April 5, 2020, I was filming an adult beaver eating at the edge of the river as a large sheet of ice was floating downstream. As the ice hit the edge, it created a large snowdrift in front of the rodent."

He added: "This hurdle made it very difficult for a younger beaver, which was swimming upstream, to find its parent."

After swimming around for a few minutes, the youngling eventually manages to reach the edge and reunite with its parent.
