Protesters gathered in Bogota and across Colombia to force the Colombian government to abandon tax reform plans.

The protests have continued despite the government abandoning those plans, with demonstrators now also demanding government action to tackle poverty, police violence and inequalities in the health and education systems.

At this protest in Bogota, filmed on 28 April, people held balloons and signs that read "no to tax reform" in Spanish.

According to Colombia's Human Rights Ombudsman, 16 protesters and one policeman have been killed in the demonstrations. But that figure doesn't include reports of deaths in Cali on Monday, which the UN said it is still trying to confirm.
