I am Jennifer Powell - 52- but everyone calls me Jenn. I live in Mission Viejo California. I am from Marin County. I am a columnist on multiple sclerosis and a patient advocate. These were filmed at my home in Southern California by me!
Abby came to live with us when she was three years old as she came into the rescue I was volunteering with. She came in right after we lost our previous golden Lucy to cancer. Abby was 42 pounds underweight, malnourished and had to be shaved due to mange. She was skittish but her spirit shown through and it took her a full year to look me in the face. From that first day she was in our home when you are family was complete.
Our friends and family love the videos. Abby has been a conduit to such joy among all of them that they have come to receive and spread that Joy just like she does.
Happy does what she does best she spreads joy and happiness through rescue out reach or caring her favorites stuffies to great friends or just exhibiting joy and happiness wherever she goes. She is a friend to all and a stranger to none.
My greatest tip is to take time to put away your phone and to enjoy the moments with your dog. Enjoy life and see do and try and see life through their eyes. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Don’t worry about the messes. Enjoy the chaos because in that chaos you will grow and you’ll learn to love even the messiest moments! Most of all cherish the moments and treasure them because when they’re gone you will live for those memories. At 11 1/2 we know our time with Abby is limited but we intend to enjoy every last moment.
I have been a golden retriever volunteer at rescue for 10 years . We will be welcoming a puppy into our lives at the end of the summer. The puppy is from a responsible breeder. You can hold both when you love dogs! I have progressive MS and Abby has brought so much joy into my life. My life just keeps getting sweeter and she is responsible to much of it.
