Illegal businesses have emerged as one of the most formidable challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic in central India's Madhya Pradesh on June 25. The incident took place in Ashoknagar.

Visuals feature the cops arresting the miscreants for deceiving people by selling fake metals. The officials further recover the cash, silver bars, and ornaments from the accused men and seize them. Then they assemble the items on a counter for a public view while a senior officer discloses the matter to the public.

The complainant, identified as Gopal Sharma, unknowingly secured a deal with the fraudsters and purchased 2 kg 840 g (6.2 lbs) of silver ingots from them for Rs. 1.35 lakh (USD 1,818). However, he only had Rs. 50,000 (USD 673) at that time, so he traded it and agreed to settle the rest afterward.

Unfortunately, when he examined the precious items, he discovered that the bars were fake and were made up of other metals. He further attempted to contact the miscreants but was unable to. Following this, he went to the police station and registered a complaint against the accused men.

The police, along with the cyber cell, then hatched a plan and nabbed the inter-state gang of five for selling fake silver ingots to the people and duping them. The officials further recovered 10 kg (22 bs) of counterfeit silver ingots, anklets, Rs. 50,000 (USD 673) in cash, and a car from their possession, and seized them while the investigation revealed that they used to commit these crimes regularly in several cities of Uttar Pradesh.
