Thousands of party people danced their way past Downing Street in London as part of a protest calling for music and nightlife venues to be opened up as hoped-for next month.

The ‘Freedom to Dance’ event on Sunday 27 June brought together ravers and workers from the music, hospitality and nightlife sectors, to demand that reopening is not again deferred or reversed.

Protesters and an MC on a DJ truck chanted a sweary slogan against Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who lives in Downing Street, as they went past.

The march ended up outside the Houses of Parliament nearby.

It was one of numerous protests happening in London this weekend, for a wide range of different causes.
