The orange R200 ‘ERKO’ is the brainchild of award-winning local designers Petr Novague and Marek Hoffmann who wanted to redesign the look of the original Czech Skoda which was popular in the 1970s.

It is the most expensive car ever launched in the country at a retail price of 7 million Czech crowns (approximately GBP £183,000).

According to local reports, the designers plan to make just two of the cars each month, producing only 30 in total.

Prominent czech designer Petr Novague has on Wednesday presented R200 „Erko“, which is his reincarnation of Czechoslovakian 1970s sports car Skoda 110 R Coupé. The R200 is with 190 000 GBP price tag the most expensive Czech supersport car and arguably the most beautiful and the fastest one.

R200 uses the technique of first generation Audi R8. That means it has V8 engine with 430 horse power and 6speed manual transmission. This mid-engined car is 4,4 m long, 2 m wide and 1,3 m high.

To build the car, Novague, who was multiple times awarded a Red Dot Design Award, teamed up with Marek Hoffman, the director of metal factory that makes parts for companies like Bentley, VW or Volvo.

Novague and Hoffman suppose that they can make 2 cars per month. The whole production of 200R is planned to be 30 cars in total.

„Skoda 110 R is a car that you don’t need to write about or talk about. It’s the true Czechoslovakian legend and to choose it’s shape was a natural choice for us,“ said Novague in his statement.
