A Stop Asian Hate rally was held in London yesterday (July 24) to highlight the 300% increase in hate crimes affecting the South East and East Asian communities in the UK during the Covid-19 pandemic.

MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy was one of many speakers at the event held in solidarity of the victims of hate crime in the UK and America, which hit a peak when then-US President Donald Trump repeatedly referred to Covid-19 as the "China Virus".
This week, Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg caused controversy when he used the derogatory phrase "Yellow Peril" in the House of Commons.

Activists gave personal accounts of racist incidents ranging from verbal attacks, physical attacks and casual racism.
