This is the remarkable moment some brave explorers drove into an abandoned gold mine in Canada.

The tense footage, which was filmed by Michael Masztalar in the Carolin mine in British Columbia, shows two vehicles pushing on into a gloomy tunnel with no exit in sight.

"So, we entered through the 900 portal and drove in approximately 3.5 km. Then, we stopped, got out, looked around, and explored different tunnels," said Masztalar.

The mine produced 45,000 ounces of gold from 900,000 tons of ore between the years of 1982 and 1984
