Shane Stevens said: "I was asked to repair a thatched roof that was slightly damaged by a squirrel.

"By pulling out the old reed around the holes and feeding some new reed there in addition to some cutting, smacking, and whacking, I was able to fix the roof and make it look as good as new.

"Maintenance on this type of roof should be done once every five years."
