This is the hilarious moment a smart pet cat prevented his brother from stealing food from the table.

The grey and white moggie named Toby was resting on the table with his naughty younger sibling Kitkit while their owner worked and ate lunch at the kitchen in Nueva Vizcaya province, the Philippines.

When pet owner Geanne Basilio stood up to get a glass of water, Kitkit then tried sneaking his paws on the plate to steal a slice of grilled meat.

However, the strict and smart cat Toby defiantly stopped his sibling by pushing away its paws before it could land on the food.

Amused pet owner Geanne said: ‘I was so proud of Toby. He knew I would be upset if my food was stolen. The naughty Kitkit had always been playful like that but he didn’t touch my food.

‘Toby was a very sweet boy. I think he was the smartest among all of my cats but I love them all the same. It’s a fun life with these animals.’

As the pet owner returned to her seat, Kitkit gave up stealing the meat and left the table while the smart Toby remained, appearing proud of guarding the food.
