Clashes at Television Centre and Broadcasting House in London anti-vax protest
Anti-lockdown and anti-vax protesters clashed with police in two major media locations in London on Monday 9 August.
The protesters first tried to storm Television Centre in White City, West London. This was the HQ of BBC television until a few years ago and still has studios used by it and other broadcasters, such as ITV, which was broadcasting the Loose Women show from the building at the time.
Then the protesters made their way to BBC Broadcasting House in central London. Despite reduced numbers and heavy rain there were still some scuffles with police guarding the building.
The protesters variously object to coronavirus regulations, although most of those have now been lifted in England, to vaccine passports, which do not yet exist although the government says such ID may soon be needed to enter clubs, and to vaccines themselves.
