Kent's Sheerness Town Council scrapped floats & lorries from its annual carnival on Saturday 14 August, replacing them instead with walking parades.

The council said that getting rid of emissions-spewing trucks was an eco-friendly move.

The parade featured colourful flags and rainbow banners on the theme of 'thanking the NHS and keyworkers'.

The procession was lead by a group of samba drummers from Whitstable.
