Extinction Rebellion staged a demonstration inside the Science Museum and outside in nearby Cromwell Road simultaneously, (August 29) in protest against the institution's link with oil company Shell who activists accuse of 'greenwashing'.

Activists blocked the road with a van and attempted to erect a bamboo structure but were thwarted by police who pulled it down before it was able to be occupied by a protester.
A man sat atop the van and glued himself on before being removed by a JCB later on during the evening.

Approximately 60 protesters are currently spending the night inside the Science Museum. Some deadlocked onto railings, some glued together.
